Avis island Beach is known for coconut plantation. It is a small and marooned beach with crystal clear water is an ideal picnic spot. This beach can be reached via Mayabunder Jetty. You need to take permission for visiting this beach in Andaman.
Avis Island Beach is a small marooned beach, which is located in the uninhabited Avis Island, Mayabunder. The island is famous for its coconut plantation. A resort owner had taken the land on lease which later fell into some judiciary troubles. The administration has then started a coconut plantation on the island.
A very small, beautiful and lovely Avis Island is about 20 min rides away by dunghi from Mayabunder jetty.Avis Island has a small but creamy beach, water is very calm and clear so that one can easily see fish frolicking in the water.
The beach of the Avis Island is not ideal for swimming as there are some small stones and pebbles in the water. This place is uninhabited, so going there early in the morning is always a good idea. Also, the island is worth spending for few hours.
Note : Avis Island is closed for tourist, if you want to visit this island then you have to take permission from the local authorities.
