It sees far fewer visitors than either Neil or Havelock but boasts a couple of excellent beaches. The beautiful Long Island is home to a lovely sandy beach at lalaji Bay. It also has a beautiful forest patch and coconut plantations. The island is less visited, which is good news if you’re looking for some isolated spots to yourself.

Long Island an unspoiled Island where there is very little tourism development. This is one of the less populated island which offers a calm and peaceful surround to the visitors.  Sometime you are likely to be the only tourist here.  A perfect destination for those people who generally walk or use by cycles.

How To Reach

Long Island is connected by government ferries, but they do not operate daily. Ferries usually run 3 times a week from Port Blair and sometimes from Havelock Island, so it is important to check the schedule in advance.

Another convenient option is to travel by road or bus to Rangat (8–9 hours from Port Blair) and then take a short ferry ride from Yerrata Jetty, Rangat to Long Island. This route is often preferred by travelers as the ferry distance is shorter and easier to manage.

Where To Stay

There are very few staying options in this Island.Forest rest house namely Vanshri and Tapovan  are available here, you can book these rest house by sending requisition to the Divisional Forest Officer, Middle Andaman, Rangat (make sure you book it in advance).Meanwhile, Blue planet is the one and only private resort in this Island.

Sightseeing And Activities

There are no motorised vehicles in this island, so you will have to use your feet like everyone does here.
