Ross and Smith Island are twin islands, joined by a sand bar that is visible during low tide. The sand bar in the form of the crescent is the main attraction of the place. These islands are the crown jewels of the North Andaman. The beach is rarely crowded and many times tourists find the whole island to themselves alone.
Ross and Smith Islands cannot be visited without prior permission from the forest office at Diglipur. Permission cost is chargeable and can be obtained on all days except Sunday.
