Red Skin Island is one of the 15 islands covered under Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park. It is an alternate option of Jolly Buoy Island, these two islands are almost the same, so the Govt. administration decided to open these two islands alternatively just to preserve its natural resources.

Another Island in Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park has a nice beach and offers some spectacular view of corals and marine life. The diverse species of corals can be observed in their natural ambiance. How To Reach

Red Skin Island is located about 30 km from Port Blair, and getting there requires a combination of road and boat travel. First, you need to take a cab, taxi, or two-wheeler to reach Wandoor Jetty, which serves as the entry point to the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park. From Wandoor Jetty, tourists can board a government-operated boat, which offers a scenic 1 to 1.5-hour ride to the island.

Boats to Red Skin Island are managed by the Forest Department, and a permit is required to visit. To protect the fragile coral reefs, Red Skin Island and Jolly Buoy Island are opened to tourists in rotation, so only one remains open at a time. Visitors should also note that Red Skin Island is closed on Mondays.
