Wandoor Beach is famous for swimming and for coral viewing. It is one of the closest beaches with tourist access, since it lies in Port Blair. It has some huts used for accommodation. This beach is normally used by tourist, on their way to Jolly Buoy beach for relaxing and taking a night walk. The ocean on the side of the beach is extremely calm and composed.

It is more, known as the gateway to Mahatma Gandhi National Marine Park.Wandoor is situated 25km east of Port Blair and takes around one hour to reach there by bus. Tickets can be purchased on the bus itself.There are some small food stalls and couple of new resorts/hotels like ‘Sea princess’ or ‘Anugama’ situated in Wandoor. These stalls or hotels operated by the locals, which offers different kind of foods.

All the boats leave Wandoor by 9am in the morning.The beach has a restricted swimming zone as some incidents took place of crocodile watch. So people can hire glass-bottomed boats to view the coral reefs.Boats are available only up to noon unless in peak season.
