Guitar Island

Guitar Island is one of the most beautiful and less travelled Island in Andaman. It is in the shape of guitar. The island gets connected with a neighboring island in times of low tide. The island which is right opposite to Guitar Island is called small Guitar Island because it also look like a guitar, smaller in size.

Shaped exactly like a guitar, this island is a blessed paradise teeming with greenery and gorgeous landscapes. With pristine white sands and turquoise blue waters, this lesser known beach in Andaman is like god’s own home. It is ideal for swimming. 

How To Reach

Guitar Island can be reached from Long Island by a traditional dunghi (small boat), and the ride takes around 15 minutes. To begin your journey, you first need to take a ferry from Port Blair to Long Island. Once you arrive at Long Island, you can easily hire a boat to reach Guitar Island. The short boat ride itself is a pleasant experience, offering scenic views of the clear waters and surrounding greenery before you step onto the quiet shores of Guitar Island.

Where To Stay

There is no hotel or resort on Guitar Island, as it is meant only for spending a quiet morning. Visitors usually stay at Long Island, which offers a variety of hotels and resorts suitable for different budgets, along with good facilities and amenities. Travelers can visit Guitar Island during the day and return to Long Island for an overnight stay.

Sightseeing And Activities

The beach of Guitar Island is long, narrow, and creamy. You can often spot sea creatures like sand crabs, hermit crabs, and shells scattered on the sand. The calm atmosphere, with only the sound of birds chirping, makes the place very peaceful. This beautiful setting is perfect for picnics, enjoying a beach walk, and admiring the natural beauty of Guitar Island.
